Meet Jess

My excitement for babies began back in 1991 with the birth of my baby sister. Being entrusted with the care of a newborn since a very young age has been a complete honour. My natural instincts developed from then on with many years of experince as a babysitter, a daytime nanny, a night nanny, an au pair and an on call caregiver. I have been blessed to be relied on by so many mothers of all different cultures, backgrounds, mothers of newborns, infants, toddlers, preschoolers and mothers of multiples. Along the way, I was a hospital volunteer in the maternity ward, a pediatric ward and in a pediatric ER. In 2014, I spent time living at a Haitian orphanage cuddling and caring for babies, toddlers and children. At every moment I just thought this was how I enjoyed spending my time and didn’t yet realize this was leading me to my calling.

While on a family beach vacation along with the encouragement of my best friend, I took the leap and trained to become a DOULA. This was the perfect opportunity to start a career doing something I have always been truly in love with. Thanks to the DOULASinc (Association of Ontario Doulas) I was trained in person and hands on in an inclusive, welcoming and sometimes vulnerable enviroment. What a pure joy to experience new life entering the world and to be able to be there providing support. I am eager to never stop learning, to keep making connections in the doula, baby and birth worlds! One of the things I enjoy most about this work is that every mother is unique and every pregnancy and birth unfolds differently. I look forward to being a part of your journey and all the doulaing that my future may hold….
